Jude Bellingham sends three-word message to brother Jobe after Sunderland achievement

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham sent a three-word message to brother Jobe after Sunderland’s stunning achievement.

Whilst Jude suffered the misery of finishing as runners-up to Barcelona in La Liga’s title race, his younger brother had been preparing for the Black Cats’ biggest game this decade.

The younger of the two looked destined to be playing Premier League football, whether it was with Sunderland or Chelsea, who have been scouting Bellingham this season.

However, after a late strike from Brighton-bound Tommy Watson, the Black Cats stunned Sheffield United.

Bellingham ran the show as Sunderland came from behind to win 2-1, returning to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.

Following the win, Jude shared a screenshot of a facetime with his brother during Sunderland’s celebrations on his Instagram story.

The post was captioned: “So [expletive] proud!!!” with the England international clearly delighted to see his younger brother thriving.

Sunderland will need to spend big to survive Premier League

Football Insider Verdict

As callous as it may seem to immediately condemn Sunderland mere moments after the greatest day in their recent history, it does need addressing.

Six of the last six teams to be promoted from the Championship to the Premier League have been immediately relegated, many are doubting Leeds and Burnley‘s chances, and they both claimed 100 points this season.

Regis Le Bris’ side, meanwhile, finished 24 points behind that duo, and whilst their core is stacked with exciting young talent, including Everton target Chris Rigg, they are lacking Premier League experience.

One option could be a man who was in attendance at the final. Jordan Henderson was linked with a return to Sunderland in the winter, and would add a wealth of experience.

The former Sunderland player would be a great addition, but the likelihood is that the newly-minted Premier League side will have to spend up to the very limit of what the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules allow for to stand any chance of surviving next year.
