Jurgen Klopp could boost Liverpool’s spending power after Harvey Elliott latest
Jurgen Klopp could be set to boost Liverpool’s spending power after the latest news surrounding Harvey Elliott.
The former Reds boss spent nine years at Anfield before deciding to leave the club in 2024.
The German was replaced by Arne Slot, who went on to claim the Premier League title in his first season in England.
Elliott struggled for minutes under Slot last season, having started in just six of his 28 appearances, where he registered five goals and three assists.
The 22-year-old previously featured heavily during Klopp’s final campaign at Anfield, contributing four goals and 14 assists after starting in 27 of his 53 outings.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with multiple clubs throughout the summer transfer window, with the Reds open to selling him for the right price.
Football Insider revealed on 2 July Liverpool will sell Elliott for £40million after he’s fallen down the pecking order under Slot.

RB Leipzig want to sign Liverpool star as Xavi Simons replacement
Recruitment expert Mick Brown told Football Insider West Ham are pushing to sign Elliott as they look to strengthen their squad this summer.
The likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in the England Under-21 international, but a deal is yet to be agreed.
RB Leipzig have now emerged as a potential option ahead of the transfer window closing on 1 September.
German newspaper BILD reported on 6 August Klopp wants to sign Elliott for the Bundesliga club as a replacement for Xavi Simons, who has been heavily linked with Chelsea.
Liverpool signed Elliott from Fulham during Klopp’s time as manager in 2019, just months after he become the youngest-ever Premier League player at the time.
Klopp began working as Red Bull’s head of global soccer in January, where he oversees their network of clubs, which includes RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Bragantino and a minority stake in Leeds United.
A deal for Elliott to join RB Leipzig would see Klopp help boost Liverpool’s spending power this summer, with a potential £40million transfer on the cards.

Liverpool can keep spending after £270m reveal
It’s already been a busy transfer window at Anfield after multiple new additions have arrived through the door in recent weeks.
The Reds have spent around £270million after signing Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Liverpool can keep spending this summer as they look to agree a deal for Newcastle star Alexander Isak.
Slot’s side have seen a bid worth £110million plus add-ons rejected for the Sweden international, with Newcastle valuing him at around £150million.
