Jurgen Klopp has Liverpool transfer regret as Divock Origi cited – pundit
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is regretting allowing both Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino to leave the club this summer.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ disappointing start to the season.
Liverpool’s poor start to the season continued with a goalless draw against Everton on Saturday (3 September).
Diogo Jota and Joel Matip returned to the bench at Goodison Park in a welcome boost to Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds named a young, inexperienced bench for previous fixtures against Man United, Bournemouth and Newcastle.
Liverpool lost Origi, Minamino and Sadio Mane in the last transfer window.
When asked by Football Insider if Origi and Minamino’s impact from the bench is missed, Robinson said: “They have got a huge injury list.
“Manager’s moan but Liverpool have had an obscene amount of injuries. If Klopp would have known the amount of injuries he would have at the start of the season he may have thought twice about letting Origi and Minamino leave.

“He may slightly regret that one but Mane is the big one for me. They miss him massively. He dominates that whole side of the field. He takes so much attention away from other players. The opposition focus on him heavily.
“Yes, they have quality in the players that they have brought in but they are not on the level of Mane. Prior to Jota’s return, they were looking a bit threadbare on the bench. In hindsight, I don’t think Klopp would have let Origi and Minamino leave.”
