Jurgen Klopp should be ‘frightened’ of Liverpool sack amid ‘big’ prediction – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Liverpool should sack Jurgen Klopp by October if he cannot turn their form around early in the 2023-24 season.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the German should be “frightened” of losing his job after the Reds’ poor season.
As quoted by the BBC before the 0-0 draw against Chelsea (3 April), Klopp admitted he only remains Liverpool manager “because of the past”, but insisted he is “not afraid” of getting the sack.
The Reds sit eighth in the Premier League – 10 points adrift of a Champions League place with 10 games to play.
Liverpool last missed out on Europe’s elite club competition in the 2016-17 season.
Klopp, who has won six trophies during his time at Anfield, is under contract at the Merseysiders until June 2026.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I’d be frightened if I were Klopp.
“If he didn’t have the credit in the bank, he’d be sacked by now.
“If Abramovich was the owner, he’d be sacked.
“Next season, they won’t be playing Champions League football – and if they’re struggling again in October, the board have no choice.
“It’s not working. He’s had his time at the club, and they will move him on.

“You can’t have two bad seasons in a row. It’s just not good enough. He keeps bringing it up because he knows it’s very possible.
“He’s under big pressure, and he has got to set his team up to show fight next season, otherwise it could end very soon for him.”
