Kai Havertz reveals new Arsenal role after ‘successful’ injury twist
Kai Havertz has sent Arsenal fans a message after undergoing successful surgery to his hamstring injury which has ended his season.
Havertz, 25, sustained a torn hamstring during Arsenal’s warm-weather training in Dubai, which has ruled him out for the remainder of this campaign.
It is the latest in a series of injury blows for the Gunners as Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli are all also on the sidelines at the moment.
Havertz’s injury left supporters questioning whether they should sign ex-Chelsea star Diego Costa as a free agent until the end of the season.
Arsenal failed to make an attacking signing during the January transfer window, despite the club making a late bid for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
The former Champions League winner will be missed at the Emirates Stadium after scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Kai Havertz gives Arsenal fans an update after undergoing surgery
Havertz has now undergone successful surgery on the injury as he begins to prepare his rehabilitation process ahead of next season.
The versatile forward took to Instagram to address the situation as he said, “The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win.
“Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped.
“I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”

Mikel Arteta’s team survived their first test without him
However, the Gunners passed their first test without the Germany international on Saturday (15 February) as they defeated Leicester City.
Arteta’s team had to be patient to earn three points at the King Power Stadium as Mikel Merino scored a brace in the final 10 minutes to keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the table.
