Kane expected to sign ‘huge’ Tottenham contract by pundit after insider’s reveal

Antonio Conte has inspired Harry Kane to sign a new contract with Tottenham.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after an update on the striker’s future.

A Tottenham insider revealed to this site on Monday (27 December) that multiple sources had told him Spurs are increasingly confident of tieing Kane to a new contract.

This comes after the striker tried to force a move to Manchester City last summer (2021).

The England captain’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2024 and a new contract could see him see out his career at the north London club.

McAvennie claims Conte is the architect behind Kane‘s thinking.

“That’s all Conte,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think Kane sees trophies at Tottenham. That was the big deal in the summer.

“You want medals to show your grandkids, I have some of mine in the back of a cupboard.

“You are proud of them, it is a symbol of success. Kane has none of that and it’s only right he wants to retire with some glory.

“Conte is one of the best in the world. Everyone knows it. He is the man to bring success back to Tottenham.

“As a former West Ham player, that hurts to say but it’s true.

“Kane obviously knows him better than we do but I get the sense they like working with each other.

“It’s a huge decision but I can see it happening now.”
