Kane ‘isn’t bothered’ as Tottenham warned over ‘toxic’ development – pundit

Harry Kane’s situation at Tottenham is becoming toxic after he again failed to score in the Premier League.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s poor form.

After Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United, TalkSPORT reported Kane, 28, was booed by a section of Tottenham fans during the game.

The striker has only scored once in nine Premier League outings this season and drew heavy criticism for his performance against the Red Devils.

McAvennie claims Kane “doesn’t look bothered” and warned his situation could grow even more toxic.

“Kane, to me, just doesn’t look bothered,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You can never question his professionalism but that’s how it looks to me.

“I don’t see a desire there. I don’t see him hungry to get after the ball and take chances.

“Tottenham should have sold Kane when they had the chance, I said that all along.

“I don’t think his heart is in it. His goal record in the Premier League is almost unbelievable.

“He’s scored one goal against a dreadful Newcastle team and that’s it.

“I think he would have been dropped if Spurs had a backup striker. Luckily for Kane, they don’t.

“Whatever is going on with him, it needs to be sorted. This can’t go on for much longer, it’s almost toxic.”

Kane has scored six goals across his outings in the League Cup and Europa Conference League this season.

Spurs are next in action against Vitesse on Thursday.
