Kane will be upset by Paratici's latest Tottenham claim - pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Harry Kane will not be happy hearing Fabio Paratici talking about a “rebuild” at Tottenham.

The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 28-year-old is “desperate” for success now.

Speaking at Festival Dello Sport (10th October), as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Paratici claimed Spurs kept Kane to “start the rebuilding” in north London.

The Italian chief insisted Kane “loves Tottenham” and “knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs”.

The England striker wanted out of north London this summer but ended up remaining with his boyhood club.

Hutton admitted Spurs are a long way off where they should be after climbing the Premier League table.

As such, he suggested Kane would be less than impressed hearing about a “rebuilding” process.

Asked if he thought the striker would be happy with Paratici’s comments, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “No, not really.

“I mean he wants to win trophies, he wants to be playing in team is challenging for everything. You can understand why.

“He’s one of the best strikers in the world. To say that you’re going to go through a rebuild and he’s 28 now, he is looking for success now.

“It will obviously be disappointing for him. They’re stuck in a tough place at the moment. They’ve got a striker there desperate to win. They’re probably not where they should be in terms of league position.

“In terms of actually challenging, I think they’re still a long way off it. They need to get him firing. If he’s going to stay there now, he needs to really get going.

“Whether that is players coming in and adding to the squad, we’ll have to wait and see. It’s a sticky place right now for Tottenham and Harry Kane.”
