Keith Wyness: Arsenal have a ‘market’ for high ticket prices amid ‘big’ claim
Arsenal will have no problem selling tickets at higher prices for Champions League games whilst the team continue to be successful on the pitch.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Arsenal introduced category A+ tickets for matches in the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League.
Coming into force from next season, tickets for Champions League quarter-final or semi-final games at Arsenal will now cost between £90 and £168.
It comes at a time when Arsenal have also increased season ticket prices for next season for a fifth consecutive year.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes fans won’t mind paying higher ticket prices for big Champions League games.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Arsenal have a “market” to sell tickets in that price range.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, when I looked at it, it’s between £90 to £168, I think is the range, and A plus is a new category, but it only applies to the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Champions League.
“Now, those are special games and I think that there’s a bit of an understanding that that would be something that the big fans would actually want to be there for and to dip into.
“Now, with all these things, if the team is winning, you don’t hear the gripes about ticket prices. There is a market for Arsenal at that price. I know there is. The market will decide if there isn’t.
“But I think for those sort of games, if they’re in Champions League quarterfinals and semi-finals, I don’t think they’d have a problem selling them at that price, to be honest. I know it’s a lot for fans, but still, I think that they would find a way.
“Personally, I know it’s a lot, but as I say, when you’re in the Champions League these days, those are big, big nights and they’re memorable. And you want to find a way to try and be there.”

Arsenal make huge Bukayo Saka commitment
Arsenal’s increasing ticket prices may be to fund new contracts for stars, after Bukayo Saka signed a contract worth £300,000 a week.
Saka will become the highest paid player at the club, with his new deal keeping him at Emirates Stadium until 2030.
Mikel Arteta has made it a clear aim since he joined the club to tie down key players to long-term contracts, with no players set to become free agents in the summer.
