Keith Wyness drops verdict on Everton agreeing Jorgen Strand Larsen deal
Everton are facing a rush in their bid to sign a new striker before the end of the January transfer window.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who doesn’t believe Jorgen Strand Larsen is the answer for David Moyes’ side.
Wolves have been backed to sell Strand Larsen in the January window, with Rob Edwards’ side expected to be in the Championship next season.
Nottingham Forest and Everton have shown an interest in Strand Larsen, who has been valued at £40million by Wolves.
Everton ‘in rush to get striker situation resolved’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks that Strand Larsen is “overpriced.”
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness can’t see the Toffees pursuing a deal for the 25-year-old.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “No, I don’t see that at all and I think he’s overpriced.
“I don’t see what people are really seeing in him to be honest, and I know that he’s had a terrible time at Wolves, the fans have been on his back etc. Of course it’s going to sap his confidence, but I don’t think any club wants to be in the situation of having to give a player, a striker, his confidence back before he starts winning again.
“I think Everton are in a bit of a rush now to get this striker situation resolved, but I don’t think Strand-Larsen is the answer. So no, I don’t see it happening and I don’t see Wolves letting him go cheaply either, because I think that’s one of their main assets that they’ve got.
“So I don’t see that one happening at the moment for Everton. Nevertheless, there is that striker issue as we know.”

Nottingham Forest could make Jorgen Strand Larsen move
Strand Larsen could force through a move to Nottingham Forest, as the Norwegian looks set to leave Molineux.
Sean Dyche’s side look to be lining up a bid for the 25-year-old to solve their goalscoring problems.
Strand Larsen did score 14 goals and register four assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season.
