‘I’ve spoken to Sean Dyche’, this is why he’s well placed for Nottingham Forest
Sean Dyche is the current favourite to take over from Ange Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest and there is one reason why he would be the perfect man for the job.
Postecoglou is under huge sack pressure at Forest, despite only taking over at the City Ground last month.
The Australian is yet to guide his side to a single win in the Premier League, picking up just one point from his four games in charge.
Dyche has emerged as the leading candidate for Forest, after recently rejecting an approach from Rangers.

Sean Dyche could be appointed on a short-term deal
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Evangelos Marinakis could still stick with Postecoglou and give him a couple more games to turn things around.
However, speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that if the Australian is dismissed, Dyche will likely be appointed on an initial one or two-year deal, rather than being the long-term answer for Marinakis.
The former Burnley boss has been out of work since being sacked by Everton at the beginning of the year.
Wyness added that Dyche was based near the Midlands back when he interviewed him for the Aston Villa job, and he still lives around Nottingham now, which makes Forest the perfect club for him.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Sean Dyche based himself in Nottingham for a lot of the time while he was at Everton.
“When I interviewed him for the Villa job, he was based in Northampton at that time, even though he was still at Burnley. The Midlands is basically his home, and he knows the area very well.
“I get the feeling that if he came in, it would be more like an interim position until he could really prove himself. I’m still not convinced that Maranakis is going to pull the cord on Ange. So there’ll have been discussions going on through this international break.
“If Dyche does come in, as I say, I see him on a short-term deal, maybe a one or two-year contract. He is maybe not the whole solution that Maranakis is looking for, but more a short-term solution to make sure that they at least maintain a mid-table status this season.
“Although Dyche always protested that he was a lot more football-minded and expensive-minded than people gave him credit for, because at Burnley he never had the squad to do it, at Everton he never really had the squad to do it.
“So look, if that was the case, he may get a chance with Forest to show that he really can do it. And of course, Marinakis is open to success. So he could be there longer term, and he’d have a chance then to prove himself.
“Look, I like Sean, I think he’s an honest operator. He knows Nottingham, he knows the city as well. He’ll have his backroom staff, Ian Woan again will be there. So look, they’ll do the job, but I don’t see it being a long-term appointment.”
Ange Postecoglou ‘unsettled’ by Sean Dyche
Meanwhile, the talk around Dyche going to Nottingham Forest is “unsettling” for current boss Postecoglou, sources have told Football Insider.
Forest are slipping closer to the relegation zone, and their supporters have already lost patience with the former Tottenham manager.
Sources say that the whispers about Dyche are having an impact on Postecoglou.
The 60-year-old is well aware that his position is under threat, but to see Marinakis and the rest of the hierarchy already exploring other options will dent his confidence further.
