Kemar Roofe could leave Rangers for ‘very big club’ after journalist’s update – Robinson
Paul Robinson has claimed Sheffield Wednesday will be “a big draw” for Rangers striker Kemar Roofe this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the size of the Owls “cannot be underestimated” even though they are in League One.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, via The Scottish Sun (25 July), Sheffield Wednesday are keen on signing Roofe on a season-long loan deal.
Derby County are also said to have shown an interest in the ex-Leeds United striker.
Roofe has two years remaining on his contract at Ibrox.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the news, Robinson said: “It is difficult when you talk about a club like Sheffield Wednesday.
“Yes, they are in League One but they are a very big football club. The draw to play for a club like that cannot be underestimated. It takes the focus off League One.
“Kemar Roofe has done well at Rangers. He has scored goals and has proven that he is capable of playing at that level.
“When you look at the size and stature of Rangers, they are the bigger club. They have European football next season.
“If he does want to come south of the border Sheffield Wednesday are a big draw though.”

Roofe made 36 appearances for the Gers across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.
He scored 16 goals in those outings.
