Kenny hails ‘amazing news’ after Liverpool source’s Salah talks update today
Paddy Kenny has told Liverpool to bow to Mohamed Salah’s wage demands and that information talks are advancing well is “amazing news”.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists agreeing to the superstar’s huge wage demands will be cheaper than signing a worthy replacement.
Salah, 29, has just over 18 months to run on his current contract at Anfield.

Football Insider revealed (29 October) the club want Salah to sign a new deal before the January transfer window and the latest from a Liverpool source today is talks are ongoing with the club hopeful of an agreement.
The deal Salah’s and his agent have asked for want equates to £117million across four-and-a-half years.
After scoring two more goals against Everton on Wednesday, (1 December) taking his haul for the season to 19 in 19 games, Kenny encouraged Liverpool to give Salah what he wants.
“It’s amazing news that a deal is close,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“What will it cost to replace him? £150million? £200million? He’s priceless.
“If he wants half a million every week, give it to him. It will cost them far more than that to replace him.
“That’s before you even think about this player who might come in.
“Will he score the same amount of goals? Probably not. Then you have to pay him a stupid amount of money as well.
“Salah is the best player in the world, for me, there is no shame in bowing to demands.
“If Liverpool want to win the Premier League and the Champions League, pay the man what he wants before he goes elsewhere.”

Salah has scored 144 goals in 224 games for Liverpool.
He has won the Premier League and Champions League with the club.
