Kevin Danso reacts as Bundesliga loan deal finalised

Kevin Danso has sent his reaction on social media after his international teammate Michael Gregoritsch’s latest move was confirmed.

Since arriving on loan in the 2025 winter transfer window, Danso has performed well for Tottenham and he has proven key this season.

The defender’s loan deal was made permanent in the summer, and he has made 12 appearances in the Premier League under Thomas Frank.

Danso could have been sent off against Crystal Palace in December, but the Austrian has usually proven himself a strong deputy in the event of Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven‘s absence.

Romero was caught out as Tottenham drew 1-1 with Sunderland last week, and the Argentine could find his position under threat from Danso.

Kevin Danso supportive of Michael Gregoritsch move

Bundesliga side FC Augsburg confirmed on Wednesday that they have signed Gregoritsch from Brondby on a season-long loan.

The deal also includes an option to buy for the 31-year-old, who spent over five years on the books at Augsburg between 2017 and 2022.

The striker has also spent time with Hoffenheim, Vfl Bochum, Hamburg, Freiburg and Schalke, in what has been a glittering career.

Some of his best form came at Augsburg, where, in the 2017-18 season, Gregoritsch scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.

Danso spent many of the earlier years of his career at Augsburg, too, joining the academy from MK Dons in 2014 and remaining on the books there until his 2021 move to Lens.

The two likely interacted there, but they are also both stalwarts of the Austria international team, boasting 102 caps between them.

Augsburg confirmed Gregoritsch’s return on Wednesday, with Danso taking to social media to like the announcement.

Austria looking for World Cup fairy tale

It was Gregoritsch who sent Austria to the World Cup in November, when he equalised late on against Bosnia and Herzegovina to secure qualification.

Danso also started and produced a superb display that saw his team stand strong as their opposition attempted to find a winner.

Given his age, 31, Gregoritsch will almost certainly play his last-ever World Cup if he is to be included in Ralf Rangnick’s squad next year.

Austria have been drawn against Jordan, Argentina and Algeria, and will hope to cause a shock in North America.
