Key Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren will be assessed on Tuesday ahead of the weekend’s clash against Tottenham, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo have claimed that a decision will be made on the 27-year-old by the medical staff as to whether he will need a scan to discover whether there is any ligament damage.
The Croatia international has featured 23 times in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side this campaign.
However, he was not part of the 18-man squad which travelled to Hull on Saturday due to the injury.
The Reds suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against the relegation battling Tigers and it is believed that Klopp gave his team two days off in order to try and rediscover their early season form.
Liverpool were scintillating going forward in the league in the first half of the campaign and they still currently boast the joint highest goal tally in England’s top flight alongside Arsenal.
However, they have not won in the league in 2017 and have even dropped of the Champions League positions.
Tottenham, who are placed as second in the league will prove to be very difficult foes and they are currently unbeaten in this calendar year with six wins from eight matches in all competitions.
They have seemingly taken Liverpool’s place as Chelsea’s closest competitors and they will be gunning for all three points at Anfield.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs wanted to sign this Premier League winning midfielder in the summer.
