Kieran Maguire: Andrea Radrizzani’s ‘time is up at Leeds United’ as takeover deal finalised
Andrea Radrizzani knows his ‘time is up’ at Leeds United after he agreed a deal to invest in Italian side Sampdoria.
That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Radrizzani’s new footballing project.
It was announced on Saturday (27 May) that Sampdoria has signed a preliminary deal for the takeover of the club by companies run by Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi.
The Italian club have been relegated from Serie A after an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign, but are set to be boosted by cash injections from Radrizzani and his takeover party.
The 48-year-old also remains the chairman of Leeds United, who face a crucial final-day match against Tottenham to determine whether or not they are relegated from the top flight.
The 49ers Enterprises are on the verge of buying out Radrizzani’s stake at the Yorkshire club, with the price of the takeover set to be significantly decreased from £420million to just £150million if Leeds are relegated.
Maguire insists Radrizzani’s main focus will be on his exit price at Elland Road, with the Italian acknowledging his time at Leeds is over.
“I think Radrizzani acknowledges that his time is up at Leeds United,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“I think we have to be fair and say there is a limited amount he can do as an owner, he delegates the day-to-day running to Angus Kinnear.
“There is a lot to be said for not getting involved – his main focus will be on the exit price for the club rather than anything else.

“He will know the base amount he has to invest in Sampdoria.
“I think, like many entrepreneurs, the period of attention he has to individual projects is limited and I think he has taken Leeds as far as he can go given his resources.“
