Kieran Maguire cites Graham Potter in Crystal Palace manager search as new £4m details emerge
Kieran McKenna is ‘worth the money’ for Crystal Palace even if they have to pay a £4million compensation fee to hire him.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Palace could recoup their compensation fee similarly to Brighton and Graham Potter.
As reported by The Sun, Palace and Brighton are interested in hiring Ipswich Town manager McKenna following his success in the Championship.

The former Man United coach has a £4million release clause inserted into his contract at Ipswich.
Football Insider revealed on 1 January that Roy Hodgson will ‘100 per cent’ leave Palace at the end of the season.
Steve Cooper is another name on Palace’s managerial shortlist following his sacking at Forest and would also prove to be a cheaper option than McKenna with no compensation fee required to hire him.
Maguire believes that McKenna would easily recoup his own compensation fee if he is successful at Selhurst Park, and Potter’s move to Chelsea shows that investing in a manager can turn profit.
“Brighton paid Swansea City around £3million in compensation when they recruited Graham Potter,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“They recouped that and a lot, lot more when he left to join Chelsea for over £20million, and he also gave them a top 10 finish.
“So getting the right manager, especially with one with such progressive views as Kieran McKenna, is part of the job.

“That £4million compensation fee will repay itself if he comes in and gets Palace two places higher in the Premier League table.
“He has impressed everybody that he’s dealt with on a professional basis to date, and so I’m sure that he’d be well worth the money for Palace.“
