Kieran Maguire drops £5m+ Aston Villa reveal as two new deals done

Aston Villa can expect their commercial revenue to rise by a minimum of £5million per season after completing two major deals.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the financial impact of Villa’s latest commercial deals.

Villa announced on 22 June that they have signed a three-year partnership with online casino company BK8 to be the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor.

Villa struck a deal with BK8 despite the Premier League voting to ban gambling sponsors on the front of shirts from 2026/27 onwards and fans opposing the partnership.

On the same day, the Birmingham-based side also announced a multi-year deal with Trade Nation to become their official sleeve sponsor.

Villa recorded commercial revenues of £30million in 2021/22 and will look to improve that figure further after striking two major sponsorship deals ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The value of either deal has not been disclosed by Villa, but Maguire expects Villa’s commercial revenue to increase by £5million per season as a result.

I think on the back of these two major sponsorship deals we’ll see an increase in Aston Villa’s commercial income of at least £5million,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

That is clearly very beneficial to the club.

For Aston Villa, that figure is worth two players’ wages, or at least one and a half players’ wages.

Combined with their qualification for Europa Conference League, I expect overall revenues to rise significantly next season.
