Kieran Maguire expects West Ham to complete multiple signings after £100m+ development

West Ham will likely reinvest the £105million Declan Rice fee into multiple signings this summer.

That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that he expects the Hammers to be busy in this summer’s transfer window.

West Ham enjoyed a successful 2022/23 season, winning a major trophy for the first time in over 40 years after beating Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final.

However, David Moyes’ side look set to lose their captain to London rivals Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners on the brink of signing the 24-year-old for £105million.

Football Insider reported on Saturday (1 July) that West Ham are prepared to reinvest all of Rice’s £105million fee this summer on transfers.

Maguire has echoed that statement and believes the Hammers are financially comfortable enough to use Rice’s transfer fee on adding extra depth to Moyes’ squad.

West Ham found it tough last season playing every Sunday and Thursday weekly thanks to their excellent achievement in the Europa Conference League,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

They may have to replicate that this year after qualifying for the Europa League.

The Hammers have a very large £105million Declan Rice void to fill in 2023/24.

West Ham, Arsenal

Therefore I expect them to be very active in the transfer market and spread around the money rather than splash it on a marquee signing.

Strength in depth will be crucial for David Moyes to compete in both the Premier League and Europe next season against stronger opposition.
