Kieran Maguire impressed by game-changing Nottingham Forest development
It is ‘very logical’ for Nottingham Forest to invest in their training infrastructure and a new pitch this summer.
That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Forest’s infrastructure investment.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Forest have made a number of investments outside of their playing squad this summer, including new analyst staff, a new dressing room and a new £2million pitch.
Steve Cooper’s side spent big last year bringing in 30 players in the summer window to bolster the squad after their promotion to the top flight.
Despite a poor start, Forest avoided relegation and have now turned their attention to improving facilities and staff at the City Ground.
Maguire believes installing a new pitch will prove to be ‘very worthwhile’ if it translates to more points in the league table.
“With each position in the Premier League being worth about £2.5million in merit payments, having a fit and proper City Ground is essential,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Especially if Steve Cooper wants his side to play on the deck as much as possible.
“This is a very logical investment and the players will become more familiar with the pitch over time.

“That can only help Nottingham Forest in terms of quality on the pitch.
“If that results in extra points being earned in the league table then it is a very worthwhile return on investment.“
