Kieran Maguire: Liverpool set to match Man United as £15m summer deal agreed

Man United have set a ‘gold standard’ for pre-season tours but Liverpool will match them by earning around £15million from their US trip this summer.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Reds have also expanded into the Asia market to improve commercial revenue.

Liverpool announced last month that they will travel to the United States for their 2024 pre-season tour.

The Merseyside club have struck an agreement to play pre-season friendly matches against Arsenal and Manchester United during the tour, with some tickets priced as high as £400 each.

Liverpool to bank £15million from show-stopping deal

Maguire believes the Reds will feel “confident” about matching the £15million earned by Manchester United during their summer tours.

We have seen that the big clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal have rejected to take part in the Premier League’s Summer Series,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

They can make more money on a club-by-club basis and in an ideal world FSG much prefer to sell their broadcast rights on a club basis rather than part of an overall Premier League product.

It will also give the club an opportunity to engage with Liverpool fans based overseas.

They have already opened several new LFC stores in the Asia market and this will also be a good earner for the club.

Manchester United have set the gold standard generating £15million from pre-season tours and Liverpool will feel confident that they can match that.
