Kieran Maguire makes ‘huge’ Man City claim after source’s £10m Asia reveal

Man City have a ‘huge’ opportunity to improve their commercial output during their tour of East Asia this summer.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the multiple benefits City can gain from their pre-season tour.

Football Insider sources revealed last Monday (24 April) that Man City expect to earn £8-10million from their pre-season tour of East Asia ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

City announced last month that they will take part in the Coupang Play Series during their pre-season tour – a three-game series in Asia.

Pep Guardiola’s side will begin their trip by facing Atletico Madrid in Seoul before heading to Thailand and Japan to round off their tour.

Maguire believes the £10million boost is not the only benefit City will gain from their tour, with the side also set to engage with a growing fan base and meet potential new commercial partners.

With Man City increasingly likely to be Premier League champions with the potential for other trophies as well, the tour of East Asia is a fantastic opportunity for new commercial partners,” Maguire told Football Insider.

Commercial partners can showcase their products next to a cup with big ears and a smiling Man City manager or player.

It is a tour which will bring huge opportunities, especially for the club’s commercial department.

“They will also have the chance as a club to meet the growing fanbase that City have in this geographical area.
