Kieran Maguire: Man City may have signed NDA amid new twist in FFP controversy
Man City may have signed a non-disclosure agreement with the Premier League to keep the investigation into their FFP status under wraps.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest on the probe into City’s finances.
The Daily Mail reported last Saturday (7 May) that the Premier League has appointed two subject matter experts as witnesses for an impending trial.

It is understood that both parties are keen to keep the proceedings secret.
City overturned a two-year Champions League ban in July 2020 as Uefa’s allegations were time-barred, but the top flight have their own spending controls and have continued to investigate.
Maguire suggested that City and the Premier League may have both signed a gagging order to stop the probe from becoming public knowledge.
“The Premier League has to be seen to be independent,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“Many people are of the view that other clubs have been trying to put pressure on the Premier League to put forward this investigation.
“They have a responsibility to all 20 clubs. To follow the behest of the other clubs in the league would be unfair to Man City.
“City feel they have done nothing wrong. They fear that if this came out, it would be a further diversion from what they are trying to foucs on.
“You can see where they’re coming from. I suspect that both parties early on in the investigation signed some agreement.”

City’s revenue totalled £570million in 2020-21.
They will take a giant leap towards the league title with victory over West Ham on Sunday (15 May).
