Kieran Maguire: Man United agree seven-figure deal amid £250m behind-the-scenes reveal

Man United will receive a ‘low seven-figure fee’ for partnering with Cadbury but it will contribute to their £250million commercial income.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about United’s partnership extension with the British-based confectionary company.

The Red Devils announced last Monday (13 March) that they have extended their partnership with Cadbury, three years after striking an initial deal.

United list 25 global partners on their official club website, which all contribute to the £274million commercial revenue recorded at the club in 2022.

Maguire believes the Cadbury deal is part of an ‘every little helps’ strategy at Old Trafford, which contributes to the club’s huge commercial success.

For a global brand such as Man United which does have a huge outreach, I think a corporate sponsor such as Cadbury would pocket them a low seven-figure fee,” Maguire told Football Insider.

“But Man United have so many of these corporate sponsors and it all tallies up behind the scenes to their total sponsorship income of around £250million.

“It is very much a case of every little helps.

Collectively these small deals help the club commercially and in turn that helps them continue to be competitive.

On a net basis, Man United have spent more than any other club in the Premier League over the course of the last decade, and that is bankrolled by their commercial success.”
