Kieran Maguire not surprised by record-breaking Arsenal reveal – ‘there has been no resistance’

Arsenal and their Premier League allies will continue to raise the price of football kits until fans make a stand and complain.

That is the view of Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners increasing their kit prices to a record level.

Arsenal have raised their 2023/24 kit prices to £80 for a replica shirt, topping the Premier League table in a price comparison according to the Daily Mail.

It marks a 14 per cent increase on last season’s prices, with the North London side now raising prices by £5 in consecutive seasons.

The first 10 clubs to release their 2023/24 kit had all increased prices, ranging from nine to 14 per cent.

Maguire insists that the price rise is following a pattern that will only be stopped when fans begin to complain about expenses.

Shirt prices have been increasing in recent years and what we have seen at Arsenal and some other clubs is no such surprise,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

What used to be a price point of £40 quickly rose to £50 and continued to grow.

We are now seeing clubs use differential pricing structures where there are multiple shirt options, but one has better material and will cost between £115-£120.

If that is what fans want, then that is what they get.

There has been no resistance as far as the manufacturers are concerned from increased pricing.

“Therefore, I expect that it will continue and there will be efforts by clubs and kit manufacturers to increase prices until fans finally take a stand.
