Kieran Maguire reveals Nottingham Forest ‘looking at £10m deal’ after ‘speaking to director’
Nottingham Forest are holding out for a £10million-a-year deal from a potential shirt sponsor.
That is according to finance expert Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “egg timer counting down” on the newly-promoted side.
Forest are yet to sign a shirt sponsorship deal for the 2022-23 campaign.
The Midlands club have played their first two Premier League games with a plain shirt.
BOXT were Forest’s main sponsors since the collapse of Football Index in 2021 but failed to agree on new terms with the club.
According to The Athletic‘s Paul Taylor and Joey D’Urso (10 August), the club are relaxed about their sponsorship situation and remain in talks with interested parties.
Maguire offered his insight into the situation after speaking to a commercial director at a Premier League club.
“Forest are looking at a £10million deal,” he told Football Insider.
“They have not managed to persuade anybody to match their expectations yet.
“£10million would certainly put them at the premium end of the other 14. How many parties would be willing to spend this?
“I was speaking to the commercial director of a club and he said they are normally looking for about £6-7million from a generic gambling or crypto linked front of shirt deal.
“Everton and West Ham have managed to extract more but they have been in the Premier League for longer.

“One of the concerns for a sponsor is that they want to be associated with success. Forest have been backed in the transfer market by their owner but that does not guarantee survival in the Premier League.
“It is an ambitious price that they are looking for. To date, there are no takers. The reservations are understandable. The egg timer is counting down.”
In other news, a finance guru has claimed the ‘sun is shining’ on Nottingham Forest as £2million ‘gamble’ may lead to £600million payoff.
