Klopp gamble fails, 28-year-old must be sold: Three things learned from Liverpool v Chelsea
Klopp’s gamble doesn’t come off
Jurgen Klopp made the bold decision to drop key men Roberto Firmino and Saido Mane for tonight’s game, and for a spell it looked like the decision would pay off. But ironically, it was Chelsea’s players coming off the bench who changed the game rescued a point for the Blues. If Liverpool want to keep up with the likes of Arsenal and Cheslea in the race for European football next season, it would make sense to play the likes of Mane and Firmino against a team you are in direct competition with. It will be interesting to see if both players are restored to the side against Stoke on Wednesday.
