Everton manager Ronald Koeman has stressed the importance of the club’s home form ahead of their game against Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Toffees welcome the Blues to Goodison Park on Sunday in the Premier League and will be looking to keep putting pressure on the teams above them.

The Merseyside club are seventh in the table and look set for European football next season, but are in touching distance of the top six still.

Everton have looked particularly impressive at home this season and won their last eight consecutive home matches in the Premier League.

Koeman has spoken about making it an intimidating atmosphere ahead of Chelsea’s visit and feels they are very confident playing at home.

“Over the years, Goodison has been a tough ground for any away team to come to and this is important, your home form, if you want to accomplish anything across the course of the campaign,” Koeman told the Liverpool Echo. “You want your home form to be good, to be intimidating and for the whole experience for opposition teams to be intimidating.

“We have good momentum at home right now, the team is confident, we are playing aggressively with a good press, good tempo and good quality.”

Koeman is enjoying a strong first season at the club following his summer arrival and had several highlights.

Everton’s 4-0 demolition over Manchester City will surely rank high and that has been a number of positive results at Goodison.

The Dutch manager has introduced a number of young talents to his first team and they are a side that are certainly building.

Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Chelsea pay a visit to Merseyside and are likely to prove a very difficult test for the Toffees.

They are four points above of second-placed Tottenham and will hope to stretch their advantage.
