Kurt Zouma repaying West Ham faith after ‘exceptional’ reveal – pundit
West Ham defender Kurt Zouma is “repaying” the faith shown in him by his manager David Moyes, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Tottenham and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Zouma, 27, is “a top-class player” after his display against Wolves.
The centre-half starred in a 1-0 win over Bruno Lage’s side at the London Stadium on Sunday.
The summer signing from Chelsea contributed an impressive 10 clearances, four blocked shots, three interceptions, three tackles and three aerial duels won over the course of the 90 minutes. [WhoScored]
As quoted by Football.London (27 February), Moyes hailed Zouma’s performance “exceptional.”
He added that the club are trying to help the Frenchman through a “difficult time” that he will “regret”.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Zouma’s display, Robinson said:
“Look, Zouma is a top-class player regardless of what he has done off the field. You cannot ignore the quality he brings when he plays. He is one of the best centre-halves they have got, if not the best.
“Yes, he owes the manager a lot for standing by him. His performance against Wolves starts to repay that.
“Moyes kept playing him and dealt with the situation the way he felt best despite public scrutiny.
“You have to admire Zouma’s talent on the field. He is a great footballer.”

Zouma was fined two weeks wages by West Ham after a video emerged of him abusing his pet cat.
However, he was not suspended by the club, much to the dismay of the public.
