Kurt Zouma: West Ham player hailed by pundit after ‘great’ dressing room reveal

Paul Robinson has applauded West Ham captain Mark Noble for the way in which he handled Kurt Zouma’s situation.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England goalkeeper claimed Noble, 34, showed “great experience, quality and leadership” with his actions.

As quoted by the Mirror (19 February), David Moyes lauded Noble for calling a team meeting after a video emerged of Zouma abusing his pet cat.

Moyes revealed his squad “had it out” over the situation to make sure it did not have a lingering effect on their dressing room.

Zouma was fined two weeks wages by West Ham following the incident but was not suspended, much to the dismay of the public.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Noble’s forethought, Robinson said: “All of the players will have been appalled and disgusted by the video.

“Clear the air talks had to be had for the good of the dressing room.

“Mark Noble showed great experience, quality and leadership by doing that.

“Zouma coming back into the team will have helped the situation. I’m sure he has apologised to his teammates.

“Every crime carries a punishment whether it be financial or time-based. Once Zouma has been punished we need to move on.”

Speaking on Friday, Moyes said: “Noble brought the players together. They all spoke about the situation.

“They had it out amongst themselves. He did the sort of thing an experienced captain would do, which is great for the manager.”
