Kyle Walker bids farewell in emotional message to Man City fans
Kyle Walker took to social media to say an emotional farewell after leaving Man City and joining Italian giants AC Milan on loan.
The 34-year-old asked to leave the current Premier League champions in early January and has now joined AC Milan on a six-month loan with an option to buy for £4.2million.
Walker had been left out of City’s last four squads entirely, with his last appearance for the club coming in their 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham.
The right-back left City having made 319 appearances for the club over a seven-and-half-season period captaining the side for last season’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Kyle Walker says his goodbyes after a trophy-laden tenure at Man City
Walker had struggled at Man City before his departure, starting 11 of his 18 games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 1159 minutes of action.
The England international enjoyed a remarkably successful spell at City, winning a total of 17 trophies during his time at the club.
He has since took to Instagram to say a long, and emotional goodbye, saying: Manchester City… where do I start? Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true. Seven years later, winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the famous treble is something I could only have dreamt as a child.
“To play alongside so many top players has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at the Etihad.
“A huge thank you to so many people, the coaching staff, the kit men and all the backroom staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes. You make every day enjoyable and provide the platform for us to perform at our best.
“To my teammates, from the moment I walked through the door I felt at home. Thank you for the great memories and for all the success we have shared together. You are friends, but also family for life.
“To Pep Guardiola, thank you for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here in 2017. Together, we’ve celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today. I’ll be forever grateful.
“To Annie, our children and all my family who have been there and supported me on this journey thank you.
“Most importantly, to the fans—thank you for embracing me as one of your own from day one. Your unwavering support, week in, week out, home and away, will never be forgotten. I wish you all constant success going forward. Thank you, Kyle”

Walker could be set to make his AC Milan debut on Sunday (January 26) in their home Serie A game against Parma.
Pep Guardiola’s side face Chelsea on Saturday (January 25) in their first game of the post-Kyle Walker era in what could prove to be a crucial game for both club’s European ambitions.
