Kyle Walker cited as Man United told to complete defender deal – Agbonlahor
Man United must extend Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract as he can reach the same importance of Kyle Walker at Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Wan-Bissaka has the ceiling to be one of the best defenders in world football amid talks about a new deal at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun (22 July), Man United are now preparing to trigger a one-year extension in his contract after Wan-Bissaka was in impressive form for the Red Devils in the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.
The report claims that the club’s head coach Erik ten Hag is determined to keep hold of the Englishman, who has started all three of the team’s pre-season games this summer against Leeds United, Lyon and Arsenal.
Wan-Bissaka ended last season with 34 appearances in all competitions, and he started five of Man United’s final six Premier League matches of the campaign.
With a possible contract extentision on the cards, Agbonlahor believes that is a deal United will benefit from in the future.
“He has been improving,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s never going to be a Trent Alexander-Arnold but he can get to the level of a Kyle Walker where you’re good enough on the attacking front which is enough, and you can see that he has been improving on this side of his game.
“When you look at him defensively there is no better right-back in the world 1v1 alongside Walker, and you can see that he has knuckled down in the past few months which has put him back to being Man United’s first choice right-back.”
