‘Kyle Walker facing major decision after AC Milan confirm huge announcement’

Manchester City loanee Kyle Walker is set for an uncertain future, after huge changes at his current club AC Milan.

Walker made the switch to Italy from Pep Guardiola’s side back in January, with the loan deal including a £4.3million option to buy clause.

The full-back started well in the famous red and black stripes, but after a couple of small injuries he fell out of favour.

Despite being under contract until 2026 at City, it is unlikely that he would be wanted back at the Etihad at the age of 35.

Allegri appointment spells the end for Walker

Walker made 11 appearances in Serie A, in what was a far from successful loan spell for the England international.

AC Milan finished a disappointing eighth in the Serie A, missing out on European football altogether, while rivals Inter are getting ready for a Champions League final against PSG.

Now things have seemingly got even worse for the defender, with Milan appointing Max Allegri as their new manager, after sacking Sergio Conceicao.

According to talkSPORT (30 May), Allegri is expected to perform a major shake-up at the San Siro, with the 35-year-old unlikely to be involved in his plans.

Walker is set for a Man City exit this summer, but without having a Milan move to fall back on, his future is up in the air.

Big changes at City

Football Insider Verdict

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Walker will have to take a pay cut if he returns to the Etihad this summer.

However, the more likely outcome is that he will be one of those leaving Manchester before next season, as Guardiola tries to close the gap to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

Jack Grealish is expected to leave Man City as well, after the winger had a disappointing campaign for the Citizens.

The England international scored just one league goal in his 20 appearances for Guardiola’s side, and has a number of interested clubs should he depart.

After finishing third in the Premier League, 13 points behind champions Liverpool, City must be ruthless to stand any chance of challenging for the title next season.
