Kyogo Furuhashi looks ‘bothered’ at Celtic as footage emerges – McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has claimed Kyogo Furuhashi looks “bothered” by his missed chances for Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Kyogo’s miss against Shakhtar Donetsk “got to him” and affected the rest of his performance.
As shown on BT Sport (25 October), in the second half Giorgos Giakoumakis slotted in his strike partner for a free shot at goal.
Kyogo’s effort was tame and easily dealt with by goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin and the Japan international was subbed off a few minutes later.
The miss proved costly as the Celts’ 1-1 draw meant they miss out on any level of European football in the new year.
McAvennie suggested that Kyogo’s misses have been affecting him in recent games, unlike Giakoumakis.
“I like Giakoumakis, every time he misses he is going nuts but I do not think he lets it bother him too much,” he told Football Insider.
“But Kyogo has missed a couple of chances and I think it might have bothered him. I think it got to him. Which is wrong because the next time he gets one he is going to miss that as well.
“The form that we were playing early season, I do not know why they are not playing like that. Kyogo’s miss was blatant and then they nearly got beaten. It is incredible.“

The Parkhead club are currently bottom of the Champions League group with two points from five games.
They face Real Madrid in the final game of the competition next week (2 November).
