La Liga expert: Arsenal told to swap Aubameyang for ‘phenomenal’ Barcelona player after £55m deal agreed
Arsenal should demand Frenkie de Jong in a part-swap deal if Barcelona come knocking for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Highbury favourite, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, exclusively told Football Insider De Jong, 24, “would fit in effortlessly” at the Emirates in 2022.
According to Eurosport (23 December), Barcelona would be interested in a swap deal involving Philippe Coutinho and Aubameyang.

The La Liga giants have already agreed a £55million deal for Manchester City forward Ferran Torres.
The prospective transfer means Barca can unlikely afford Aubameyang without making room on their wage bill.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if a swap deal involving Coutinho or any other Barca player would work for Arsenal, Campbell said:
“I would like De Jong, if you don’t mind. I would love to see him at Arsenal.
“I cannot see them moving him on because he has been phenomenal for them, he really has.
“He is the one player who really fit into Mikel Arteta’s squad. He would fit in effortlessly. I think he’d be brilliant beside Thomas Partey.

“Would they want to do that deal? Barca want another striker now [Sergio] Aguero has retired. There is room for Aubameyang.
“Listen, at the end of the day, if they want to do business and Aubameyang wants to go – do the business. Create some room on that wage bill.”
