La Liga expert has insight on Leeds signing Galan for 'bargain' price after update today
Kevin Campbell has claimed Leeds United would be getting an “absolute bargain” if they signed Huesca defender Javi Galan for £3.5million this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal striker, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, claimed the 26-year-old is a “decent player” who would be suited to Premier League football.
This site revealed on 2 June that the Whites have approached Galan’s representatives about a potential move and the latest update today is that further contact has taken place.
It comes after United’s pursuit of Stade Brest defender Romain Perraud hit a stumbling block, with Southampton now the favourites to sign him.
Galan represents a far cheaper option for Marcelo Bielsa’s side given his release clause dropped from £7million to £3.5million upon Huesca’s relegation from La Liga last month.
The Spanish full-back’s contract with Huesca expires in 12 months.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his insight on Galan’s performances last season, Campbell said: “For that price, he is an absolute bargain.
“I have seen him player on numerous occasions and he is a decent player. I think he will do OK in the Premier League, I really do.
“Leeds are in need of a left-back even if Alioski decides he wants to stay and Galan at that sort of price is cheap money. It would be a smart move.”
Leeds United’s left-back for the majority of the 2020-21 campaign, Ezgjan Alioski, is yet to agree new terms at Elland Road.
The North Macedonia international has been tabled a second, more lucrative, contract offer by the club and they are awaiting his response.
