La Liga expert makes 'massive' Leeds claim as he reacts to major Galan update
Leeds United can “100 per cent” beat Sevilla to the signing of Huesca left-back Javi Galan this summer.
That is the view of former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, who delivers weekly punditry for La Liga TV, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the race to sign the 26-year-old.
Radio Huesca reported last week (June 9) that Leeds are willing to pay Huesca more than Galan’s £3.5million release clause in order to secure his services ahead of Sevilla.
It is also said Sevilla are ready to pay the the left-back’s release clause in full.
It comes after Football Insider revealed on 2 June that the Yorkshire club have approached Galan’s representatives to discuss a potential transfer.
Campbell claimed the “huge draw” of playing in the Premier League may swing a deal in Leeds United’s favour.

“Leeds can definitely beat a club like Sevilla to a player,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“It all depends what Javi Galan wants, let’s be honest. He might be quite happy in Spain.
“The Premier League is a huge draw though at the end of the day. Leeds are a massive club who have performed really well in the first season back and their name is back on the map.
“It is important they strengthen this summer because teams know them now. They will scheme against them better.
“If they make the right offer to Huesca, and if the logistics are not an issue, I think Leeds could win that one – 100 per cent. I think Leeds might be able to offer him more wages-wise as well.”
