Lamare Bogarde exit: Three Premier League clubs Aston Villa player can join in January
Crystal Palace, West Ham and Burnley should all be in the market to sign Aston Villa’s Lamare Bogarde as he gets ready to potentially leave the club in January.
Bogarde has been a bit-part player for Aston Villa since his first-team breakthrough, with 35 appearances since the start of last season.
He has started just three Premier League games so far in 2025-26, leading to uncertainty around his future ahead of the January window.
Football Insider have previously revealed that Brighton hold an interest in Bogarde, and a new report from the Daily Mail states that an exit cannot be ruled out as he represents pure profit due to being an academy product.
With the Seagulls known to be interested, Football Insider have now picked out three other top-flight sides who should be looking at signing Bogarde next month.
Crystal Palace
Oliver Glasner has made it clear that he wants Palace to be busy in January after he felt he was left short in the summer due to their lack of business.
Bogarde’s impressive versatility means he is equally proficient as either a defensive midfielder or right-back, which are two positions that the Eagles could do with improving on.
Daniel Munoz could leave Palace in January to significantly weaken their right-back prospects, and while Bogarde is not as strong in an attacking sense, he would provide similar quality on the ball and arguably more defensively.

In midfield, Daichi Kamada is injured and out of contract at the end of the season, while Will Hughes and Jefferson Lerma are each over 30 years old, so signing the Villa youngster could make a lot of sense for their long-term planning.
West Ham
Nuno Espirito Santo is yet to find his best midfield partnership, despite Mateus Fernandes’ impressive form, with Soungoutou Magassa, Tomas Soucek, Freddie Potts and Guido Rodriguez all trying to nail down a starting place.
Bogarde’s arrival could end West Ham‘s troubles, and also provide a huge boost to their chances of survival as they battle to stay in the Premier League this season.

Nuno is set to be backed by West Ham’s chiefs with a £50million transfer kitty in January, and so affording a deal for the Dutchman should not be an issue.
His tenacity and impressive passing range would be an improvement on most of their midfielders, and he could also be a starting option at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters both out of sorts.
Burnley
Burnley need to aim high in the January window if they want to stand any chance of Premier League survival come May, with six points separating them and Nottingham Forest in 17th right now.
Once more, their midfield has left a lot to be desired this season, with the likes of Josh Cullen, Josh Laurent, Hannibal and Florentino all struggling to impress.

Bogarde’s experience in the Premier League and Champions League could be key to the Clarets, and he would surely be a regular starter ahead of those aforementioned names if he were to join the club next month.
Persuading him to join would be Scott Parker’s biggest obstacle, but the promise of more game time at Turf Moor over Brighton, or potentially Palace and West Ham, may stand them in good stead to get a deal done if they wish to.
