Lawrence Shankland: BBC pundits wowed by Rangers striker after Scotland brace vs Curacao
Lawrence Shankland once again showcased his quality as the Rangers striker scored twice in Scotland’s 4-1 victory over Curacao.
It was far from an eye-catching display from the Tartarn Army, but they got the job done as they prepare for the World Cup.
Two Rangers players were the stars of the show as Findlay Curtis and Shankland both netted at Hampden Park, while Ryan Christie also netted a penalty.
However, it was the Gers’ newest striker who took a wealth of the praise, with pundits James McFadden and Willie Miller full of praise for the former Hearts star, with the latter claiming he was like a “predator”.
With Rangers fans yet to see their new striker at Ibrox, they will be thrilled at what is being said ahead of the World Cup.

After a quiet first half, after the break, Shankland truly came to life.
Just before the hour mark, he would put Scotland ahead for the first time in the game after a short corner routine saw the ball drilled to the striker, who slammed it into the net with a first-time finish.

His second was arguably even better as he guided the ball in off the post five minutes later after a fabulous Lyndon Dykes pass.
Watching the game, BBC’s pundits were quick to heap praise on Rangers’ newest signing as he showed the country why he will be a massive asset at the World Cup.
Commenting on his second goal, James McFadden told BBC One: “He’s been so much more involved in the second half, it’s an excellent goal.
“Great link-up play and a brilliant lay-off from Dykes.
“And then the touch and finish, is it ever in doubt when Shankland’s in that position?
“So clinical.”

Willie Miller also said on BBC Sportsound: “He’s having a lot of fun in the second half, Lawrence Shankland.
“His movement throughout the game has been pretty good. He didn’t have the service in the first half, but he’s getting it now.
“A lot of praise should go to Lyndon Dykes. It’s a perfect pass, and Shankland has been a predator in the second half.”
Shankland form is bad news for Bojan Miovski
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Bojan Miovski is set to push for a summer exit at Rangers.
The striker is not happy about the arrival of Shankland at Rangers amid fears his game time will be reduced further.
His form against Curacao shows that this may not be misplaced, with the striker likely to become a key starter for Danny Rohl.
Miovski had already been pushed down the pecking order at Ibrox towards the end of the season, with many of his appearances coming from the bench.
The 26-year-old is now intending to try to find a move away from Glasgow this summer, as sources say that he is not content with the idea of playing a bit-part role once again next term.
