Leeds backed to agree James McAtee January deal – Insider
Leeds United have been backed to sign Man City’s James McAtee in the January transfer window to provide him with more regular football.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who remains very well connected to the club, believes a loan deal would be “sensible” for McAtee.
It is believed that McAtee is “desperate” to play more regular game time after two impressive loan periods with Sheffield United, after playing only a single minute in the Premier League this season.
However, the attacking midfielder has proven his quality during his time at Sheffield United where he’s scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 75 appearances.
Leeds United could offer James McAtee important game time
“Listen if he’s going to go to West Ham and he’s going to play every week in the Premier League it’s different,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“But actually, when you look at what McAtee’s done with Sheffield United both in the Premier League and the Championship it’s an area that you know as well he’s a top quality player.
“For Leeds, it’d be a real coup.
“You look at McAtee now you look at we talk all the time about Pep’s injury crisis if you like that he’s had this season, the amount of players that he’s had missing, McAtee still hasn’t had a look in the Premier League.

“All his minutes have come away from the Premier League, he doesn’t really get an opportunity.
“A loan deal is probably more sensible for him in January.”
