Leeds expected 4-3-3 v Reading: Youngster handed first league start under Christiansen
Midfield
Eunan O’Kane (Centre-midfield) – Took a painkilling injection to play against Wednesday with cracked ribs, a clear signal of how highly Christiansen regards him. It is expected he will have fully recovered to start against Reading.
Kalvin Phillips (Centre-midfield) – Has started all 11 of Leeds’ league matches this season and his run should continue, but with greater protection to allow him to burst forward and be a force in the opposition box.
Ronaldo Vieira (Centre-midfield) – The darling of 2016-17 could be handed his first league start of the season in a new-look midfield that would make Leeds less vulnerable to counter-attacks. Pulled out of the England Under-20 squad with a knee injury that was said to be minor and should be fit to play on Saturday. If he starts, it would be the teenager’s first in the league since Christiansen was appointed.
