Leeds expected XI v Derby County: Senior trio axed

Felix Wiedwald (Goalkeeper) – The German made a horrible blunder for Bristol City’s first goal when he missed his punch, and Paul Robinson led the calls for him to be replaced this summer. But, given that Andy Lonergan is the back-up, the German could keep his place at Derby.
Vurnon Anita (Right-back) – With Berardi available again, Heckingbottom will be tempted to turn to the Swiss immediately. However, Anita was one of Leeds’ most accomplished performers at the weekend and he might retain his place.
Matthew Pennington (Centre-back) – With Liam Cooper available after serving the final match of a four-game ban, the on-loan Everton player is the centre-back most at risk of losing his place. But Pennington has been solid enough, and deserves to stay in.
Pontus Jansson (Centre-back) – Talisman, defensive leader and arguably the team’s best player, Jansson will be key to keeping Derby at bay. But he must be careful as another yellow card will mean a two-match ban.
Laurens de Bock (Left-back) – The January recruit has been inconsistent since his arrival but his attitude was impressive against Bristol City and he was key to the comeback.
