Leeds expected XI v Derby after final training session: Senior quartet axed

Pablo Hernandez (left wing) – The Spaniard was one of Leeds’ best players against Bristol City and is likely to remain in the starting XI ahead of Kemar Roofe and company.
Ezgjan Alioski (right wing) – Has not been in good touch of late and paid the price with his omission on Sunday but likely to get the nod to start over Stuart Dallas, who did little of note and could be the third senior player to be axed.
Samuel Saiz (playmaker) – Surely Leeds’ most gifted player – Thomas Christiansen’s comments to a Danish newspaper make it clear how highly he regarded him – will return straight to the line-up that has missed him so badly during his self-enforced absence? Caleb Ekuban is likely to be the fourth senior man who loses out from the weekend.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga (striker) – Started Leeds’ comeback with his fourth goal in five matches against Bristol City and the signs are that the German spearhead could produce some Chris Wood-style exploits with the right service. The return of Saiz could be key to getting the best out of Lasogga.
In other Leeds United team news, former Elland Road goalkeeper Paul Robinson has delivered a brutal verdict on a current first-team regular and urged the club to get rid of him at the end of the season.
