Leeds expert issues ‘unbelievable’ Jesse Marsch claim as official footage analysed

It is no surprise Jesse Marsch was sent off as Leeds United lost to Brentford on Saturday (3 September) after another poor refereeing display.

That’s according to ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the controversial scenes at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Leeds were denied a penalty in the second half after Aaron Hickey pulled down Crysencio Summerville on the edge of the penalty area.

The decision prompted an angry response from Marsch, who was subsequently sent to the stands for the remainder of the game.

After the match, Marsch spoke to Sky Sports and suggested he would try to organise a meeting with Premier League referees.

Kenny understands why Marsch was sent off but does not blame the manger for getting angry with the referee’s decisions.

“This is so disappointing, again,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is so much inconsistency with the refereeing and with VAR decisions. I know Marsch has been sent off but, no wonder.

“I can’t believe more managers aren’t being sent off. These managers, their jobs are on the line, careers are on the line.

“They are going out there and giving everything to win a football match and you are getting unfair decisions. No wonder he was sent off, I think I would be the same.”

Leeds United

Leeds are next in action against Nottingham Forest next Monday (12 September).

The Whites currently lie 9th in the Premier League.
