Leeds fans blast ‘worst signing of the summer’ after ‘terrible’ moment in Aston Villa defeat
Leeds United fans have quickly lost patience with one particular star after their latest defeat to Aston Villa.
The West Yorkshire outfit were beaten 2-1 by Unai Emery’s men on Sunday afternoon, as they saw their losing run in the Premier League extend to a third consecutive game.
Leeds fans booed the team off at Elland Road after the full-time whistle, while supporters on social media have been quick to pile in on Daniel Farke after yet another frustrating 90 minutes of action.
The Whites now find themselves sitting inside the bottom three, with the fearsome prospects of clashes with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to come in their next three outings.

Leeds fans slam Lucas Perri after fresh Elland Road footage shared
Lucas Perri has been under heavy scrutiny at Leeds so far this season, after he was signed in the summer as the long-term replacement for the much-maligned Illan Meslier.
The Brazilian has delivered some jaw-dropping saves already this season, but there have certainly been moments of frustration with his performances during the opening months of his time in English football.
The former Lyon gloveman was left frustrated this weekend, as a second-half double from Morgan Rogers saw his defences breached and handed the visitors all three points.
Rogers’ second strike was a dipping free-kick from just outside the penalty area, which floated over the wall and into the back of the net.
However, footage has now been shared on X from behind Perri’s goal as the set-piece was taken, and it has resulted in plenty of criticism being sent towards him.
One fan branded the shot-stopper as the “worst signing of the summer” for Leeds, while another wrote on X that it was a “terrible” moment from the ‘keeper.
There were even calls from some supporters that Perri should be “ashamed” to have conceded the free-kick.
Others were a little more sympathetic towards the Whites’ number one, and pointed towards the failings of the wall in front of him, but the general feeling from supporters was certainly one of frustration.
Lucas Perri has the lowest save percentage in the Premier League
This isn’t the first time that Perri has felt the wrath of the Leeds fans since his arrival in the summer, and his statistics so far this term are a fairly damning reflection of the impact that he has made so far.
| Stats | Perri Total | Premier League Rank |
| Clean Sheets | 2 | =12th |
| Save Percentage | 50% | 20th |
| Saves per 90 | 2 | =16th |
| Goals Prevented | -1.6 | 16th |
| Goals Conceded per 90 | 2 | =1st |
The 27-year-old’s signing was intended to put a definitive end to Meslier’s involvement at Elland Road, and while it is clear there is still no way back for the Frenchman, his replacement could easily find himself on the chopping block as well if he doesn’t improve.
Perri now possesses the lowest save percentage of any Premier League ‘keeper in 2025-26, having kept out just 50 per cent of the shots that he has faced so far, according to Fotmob.
He also ranks among the bottom four ‘keepers in terms of saves per 90 and goals prevented, while he has conceded the joint-most goals per 90 of any gloveman so far this term.
Perri was a high-profile arrival in the summer, having played Europa League football last term, but he simply hasn’t come close to meeting expectations so far.
