Leeds fans crushed by ‘disastrous’ Ethan Ampadu news
Leeds United fans are concerned after Ethan Ampadu was forced off in the first half after picking up an injury in their 3-0 win over Coventry on Saturday (September 28).
The 24-year-old was replaced by summer signing Ao Tanaka on the 41-minute mark after injuring himself while making a challenge.
Daniel Farke’s side were still able to secure a comprehensive victory at Elland Road thanks to goals from Wilfried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle, and Joel Piroe.
Little Italian Gnonto opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a lovely strike right on the 18-yard box to give his side the lead going into half-time.
Not long after the break, Jayden Bogle doubled their lead with his first goal for the club since joining from fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield United in the summer.
Piroe then rounded things off in the 79th minute with a close-range effort assisted by Gnonto, who picked up the Player of the Match award.
Leeds United sweat over Ethan Ampadu injury
Capable of playing in central midfield and at the heart of defence, Ampadu has been a lynchpin for Leeds United so far this season.
The Wales international has played the full 90 minutes for club and country eight times out of ten and Leeds fans are worried about the impact his injury could have on their season.
In other news, Leeds will have to make ‘hefty pay-off’ to sack Daniel Farke.
