‘Bit of a surprise’ – Leeds fans react as striker starts v Burton

By Danny Wright

Leeds have confirmed that striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga will make his debut for the club in Saturday’s clash with Burton at Elland Road – and fans can’t wait to see the German powerhouse in action.

The Whites announced on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off that Lasogga, 25, will lead the line of attack in what will be the first match since he signed for the club in late August.

Thomas Christiansen has had a big choice to make about who will fill the void left by Chris Wood at the spearhead of the team with Pawel Cibicki and Kemar Roofe also in contention for the spot while Caleb Ekuban is out injured.

Lasogga signed for the Whites on loan from German side Hamburg SV and he certainly fits the mould of Wood as he is a big, powerful forward who is bound to cause some problems for the opposition defence on Saturday.

Supporters are naturally eager to see the ex-Wolfsburg man in action and took to Twitter to give their thoughts on him being named in the starting XI.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

There were doubts over whether Lasogga could start against lowly Burton as his partner is due to give birth to his child on Sunday.
