Leeds fans react on Twitter as key figure set to be sidelined

The Football Association has confirmed that Leeds manager Garry Monk has been charged with misconduct – and fans on Twitter have reacted in an angry manner.

The FA confirmed on its official website on Tuesday that there is sufficient evidence that Monk had acted inappropriately during the 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield on Sunday.

The Leeds key figure was involved in an altercation with Terriers boss David Wagner after their Yorkshire rivals had scored the winning goal with minutes left on the clock.

Monk is alleged to have breached FA Rule E3 which relates to improper conduct, and he has until 6pm on 10 February to respond to the charge.

As a result, the Whites manager could now face another spell on the sidelines, having already received a touchline ban earlier on in the campaign.

Fans on Twitter were not pleased that their manager was charged by the FA as they slammed the FA’s decision.

One supporter blamed the referee, who sent both managers off at the time, for not dealing with the situation straight away.

As soon as Wagner’s side scored the winning goal, the German ran to celebrate with his players, upon his return, he entered Monk’s technical area and was bodychecked by his managerial counterpart.

As a result, a mini-brawl ensued between both teams, where players and staff got involved before the referee took action.

Overall, the Whites supporters believe that Monk did not do much wrong but did blame Wagner for his actions.
