Leeds fans react on Twitter as key man set to miss Birmingham clash
By Amir Mir
Leeds manager Garry Monk has been banned for one match and fined £3,000 by the Football Association – and fans on Twitter are annoyed.
Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay stated on his personal Twitter account that Monk has admitted a charge of improper conduct following his clash with Huddersfield manager David Wagner on February 5.
The duo were sent off after they clashed in Monk’s technical area moments after Wagner’s side had scored the winning goal during the Championship game.
Now, Monk is set to watch from the stands in what is a major blow for the Yorkshire club as they aim to continue their promotion charge.
Monk has been key figure in Leeds’ transformation to promotion hopefuls this season and his input from the sidelines will now be missed for the Birmingham game on Friday night at St Andrews.
Some fans on Twitter felt their manager receiving a ban was a joke because it was Wagner who went into Monk’s technical area.
Another supporter urged him to join the fans in the away end as the Whites aim to continue their promotion charge.
Pep Clotet is Monk’s assistant and one fan stated that the Spaniard has got it under control as he is the most likely person who will step into the Englishman’s shoes.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Monk’s side recorded a 1-0 win against promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, while the Blues beat their local rivals Wolves.
The two teams are separated by 18 points in the Championship table, with the Yorkshire club winning 19 encounters to their opponents 11 this term.
During the reverse fixture in August, it was the Midlands club who picked up a 2-1 win at Elland Road.
In other Leeds news, this is why the Whites have a real chance of signing this Premier League striker after Monday development.
