‘Don’t write him off yet’, ‘Great talent’ – Leeds fans react as 23-year-old agrees terms
By Danny Wright
Leeds confirmed that they completed the signing of striker Caleb Ekuban on Tuesday – and fans on Twitter have offered a mixed reaction to the news.
The Whites announced on their official website and official Twitter account that the 23-year-old had agreed terms to a four-year contract at Elland Road after an undisclosed fee was agreed with the Serie A outfit Chievo.
Ekuban had failed to make a single senior appearance for Chievo, and has spent a lot of his time in Italy out on different loan spells.
Last season saw the Ghanaian find the best form of his career in the Albanian top-flight with NK Partizani, as he scored 18 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions as he also earned invaluable Champions League and Europa League experience.
Due to the amount of time he has spent out on loan, many Leeds supporters on Twitter are skeptical about Thomas Christiansen’s latest addition, leading one to urge his fellow fans “don’t write him off yet”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Ekuban has become Leeds’ latest signing of the summer after Mateusz Klich, Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko were all announced to have signed permanent deals at Elland Road.
The ex-Chievo man also had loan spells at Sudtirol, Lumezzane and Renate prior to his temporary switch to NK Partizani.
